The hippo was not removed from Nightfall. Nor was it even handled as a "cannot kill" endangered species. Perhaps you are thinking of the panda, which we were unable to offer as a charmable creature because of legal issues in China.

Is there some magic reason why they cant just introduce the skelton again then? or did you just agree with him for the sake of time

I'm pretty sure the crocodile uses the same basic skeleton the lizards do (the crane and flamingo probably share theirs with the moas, for that matter)...
